α-BBO
- α-BBO is a negative uniaxial crystal. It has large birefringence and high transmittance within the broad transmission range of 189 nm ~ 3500 nm. Its physical, chemical, thermal and optical properties are similar to β-BBO.
- α-BBO performs better than YVO₄ and other synthetic crystals in the ultraviolet band. Anti-reflection coating and moisture-proof control are required for practical use.
